Curriculum Vitae
Daniele Damele has a degree in Political Science, a PhD in Development Policy and Land Management from the University of Trieste, and is a freelance journalist and administrative manager. He is President of Fasi, of Federmanager Friuli Venezia Giulia, Secretary of CIDA Friuli Venezia Giulia, and a member of the board of directors of VISES ETS.
He is a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and a Lay Judge of the Court of Assizes in Trieste . He has been a lecturer in “Human Rights” at the Faculty of Political Science of the Niccolò Cusano Telematic University of Human Sciences in Rome, a lecturer in “Ethics and Communication” at the University of Udine, and consultant to the Ministry of Communications regarding local private radio and television companies and the protection of children and young people. He has also been vice-president of the Internet and Minors Guarantee Committee, coordinator of the Inter-Ministerial Working Group that developed a code of self-regulation for the protection of children on the web, and of the Video Phones and Minors Working Group of the Ministry of Communications.
He was a member of the Inter-Ministerial Technical Committee for the Aware Usage of the Internet of the Ministry of Innovation and Technologies, and of the Commission for the Configuration of the Radio and Television System of the Ministry of Communications. He was also a member of the Working Group that developed the TV and Minors Self-Regulation Code, and of its related Monitoring Committee representing the Italian Corecom committees (of which he was Vice-President of the National Conference), having previously been President of Corecom in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
He was an Extraordinary Commissioner in the municipalities of Pontebba, Savogna, San Daniele del Friuli and Venzone (UD) and at Ipab in Cividale del Friuli (UD). He is currently enrolled on the list of voluntary tutors and under-tutors, special curators and supporting administrators of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
He has written ten books (and a number of academic pamphlets) and works with socio-cultural and voluntary associations. He has edited a number of periodicals, including Udine Economia, the monthly journal of the Udine Chamber of Commerce.
Together with Don Davide Larice, he is the coordinator of the Friul Tomorrow Committee, a European Safe social media educator, and was formerly the national administrator and communications manager for the Italian Association for Organ, Tissue, and Cell Donation (AIDO).
A deviser of radio and TV programmes, for many years he has been acting on behalf of young people, not only to protect them from possible dangerous content across the various communication channels (TV, Internet, video games, mobile phones – especially smartphones), but above all striving to ensure that they have forums for discussion, analysis and meeting up while valuing their ideas. He writes for several websites and periodicals and collaborates with radio and television stations.
